We can scan at a number of resolutions from Standard Definition up to 2K. However our standard files are full HD 1920 x 1080 .
Our standard resolution is full 1920 x 1080 HD High Definition. Please enquire for other resolutions.
We supply AVI and MP4 file formats as standard. But we can supply transfers to nearly all major codecs / formats. To name but a few. .mov / Quicktime / ProRes, H.264 / H.265, MP4, WMV, FLV, AVI, DNxHD, etc

As standard we supply AVI and MP4 file formats – the AVI being the original scan file & the MP4 being a universally compatible format for playings on computers, tablets, televisions and smartphones. Other formats, such as Quicktime .MOV, WMV, FLV and DNxHD. Available codecs include ProRes, H.264 and H.265.
Yes you can. If editing on a Windows-based PC you can edit using the supplied AVI file. Please advise if editing on a Mac and we will supply a more Mac-friendly .MOV file.
Yes of course. If you ask for a DVD or Blu-Ray, we would encourage you to take copies of the video files on USB. DVD and Blu-Ray players may become obsolete in the future but if you have the video files you should be as future-compatible as possible.
Yes our scanners scan frame by frame which allows us to offer our customers an image sequence as well as video file.
At present we are only able to transfer optical sound tracks and don’t offer the service to convert magnetic stripes or sepmag.
Your films will be handled with great care every step of the way. The transfer system uses a cool LED light source to avoid burning the films and a sprocketless drive ensures no damage to your footage.
Yes we always return the originals along with your new USB or DVDs
All films are sympathetically cleaned, examined for damage and repaired if necessary. And if we think it is necessary we will use a special Film Guard solution to clean the films.
We generally put a maximum of 2hrs on to a single disc. This is to avoid too much compression which directly affects the quality of the DVD. We monitor the films during capture and can make colour corrections if deemed necessary but we prefer to look at the scanned film afterwards and use dedicated colour correction software on request.
